Up-to-Date Bathroom Ideas Using Color

Having a trendy bathroom that is up-to-speed with modern fashions for the home is as simple as adding color. Many folks have a tendency to go with earthy tones like sand, beige, cream, or mint in the bathroom, but adding a pop of color can really breathe new life into a tired, old bathroom. So whether you are remodeling the bath or just want to give it a facelift, selecting colors that will produce a unique vibe in the bathroom area is an ideal undertaking, and there are many ways that you can add color to this all-important but often overlooked area of the home. The most affordable way to give any room, including the bathroom, a makeover is by painting. Altering the entire ambience of the bathroom can be as simple as choosing the right color for this room. And since everyone’s day typically begins in the bathroom, selecting bright, cheerful colors that will pump up your energy and get you going each morning is a wise idea. For smaller bathrooms, you should go for light colors or adding a color that is in contrast to the bathroom’s rear wall in order to give a feel of spaciousness. Take into consideration the color of your flooring, fixtures, cabinets, and countertops when choosing a bathroom color as these are elements that are expensive to change – and you want to complement them, not replace them. Make your bathroom appear more welcoming with warm yellows, reds, and oranges. Accessories
With the wealth of accessories that can be purchased for the modern bathroom, adding color via accessories is also a good option, and many of them are relatively inexpensive if purchased at a discount store. Choose accessories like a waste basket, vanity basket, soap dispenser or soap dish, and toothbrush holder in a color that is in contrast to other colors within the space. Add a shower curtain that is also in contrast, or go for a contrasting color for a shower curtain liner and then add a lacy shower curtain that matches your other accessories or some other element in the room. Colorful rugs and baskets can also be used to liven up the bathroom and keep it looking up to the minute. Rugs have an added advantage of being soft beneath your feet, which can be very inviting if your bathroom floor is covered in hardwood or tile. Choose a solid rug in a bright color that will make your floor a standout sensation, or go for those that are multi-colored to tie more than one color from within the room into the rug. Handy storage baskets can also be purchased that are made of bamboo, wicker and other materials from nature in a wide array of colors. Select a basket to place above the toilet tank to store extra tissue rolls and one to sit beside the tub to hold wash clothes and soaps. You might also place a natural colored basket on the sink and add some boldly colored hand towels to it to give a burst of color to this area as well.
