Contemporary Bedroom Design

If you love clean lines and bright colors, then you would love a bedroom done in a contemporary design. Contemporary design can be colorful, or it can be monochromatic. It can also be a combination of the two, for example, monochromatic with a big splash of accent color. Depending on the aesthetic that you want to create in your bedroom, you may opt for shades of neutral, or you may choose splashes of bright color to get your day off to a roaring start. Follow along for five contemporary designs that could work in any bedroom. 1.Contemporary
Contemporary design is famous for its minimalist approach to design. In any successful contemporary room design there is an element that keeps it from just being boring. For example, you may paint a bold colored stripe through an otherwise neutral room, and balance it with a splash of bold color on the other side of the room. When you look at a room like this it is hard to imagine ever having a bad morning. 2.Fun and Funky
A modern room can also be funky and fun. By painting and furnishing the room entirely in white, you are literally creating a completely blank canvas on which to work design magic. By adding green, blue and gold in many shades and layers, for example, you can make the space comes alive. Combine old materials with new for a wonderfully quirky twist and carry the eclectic vibe through the space by complimenting and contrasting fabrics on pillows, throws and area rugs. Pull deep, rich tones of color onto the bed and chair so that these larger pieces of furniture pieces both define and anchor the space. 3.Urban Loft
As more and more urban spaces are being rehabbed, the conundrum of what to do with an old brick wall in your loft space is becoming less of a problem. The texture and character of the brick can offer instant personality to a room. By pulling the color inspiration for the room directly from the brick, you can keep the wall from overpowering the room. By using shades of red, orange and beige throughout the room with touches of black and white accents, the room becomes balanced and cohesive. The calming effect is continued, by keeping the colors and fabrics solid and not using a lot of prints or designs to compete with the pattern of the brick. The result can be a marvelously livable space. 4.New and Trendy
Part of the fun of contemporary design is the fun that you can have with color. Try pulling from a palette including pumpkin orange, apple green, rich chocolate and charcoal to create a stylish and modern room. By staging these colors against a neutral black and white background, you can always keep in step with the latest trends. By keeping all of your new and trendy colors in you sheets, duvet covers and accessories, you can simply replace them when you are ready to jump onto the next trend, and the bones of your room will work equally well with the new color combination.
5.Modern Shapes
By echoing colors and architectural shapes and features of a room, you can create a modern space that is balanced and cohesive. For example, by selecting furniture with rounded backs, you can echo the shape of an arched doorway and rounded window openings. Adding a circle element to light fixtures and area rugs the entire look is tied together. Then by splashing a bold accent color evenly around the room, the room is now visually balanced as well as cohesive.
