Choosing the Right Home Accessories to Re-decorate Your Home

You may think that to change the feel and mood of a room or space you would need to spend a lot of money. However, you can change the entire look of a space by just changing or adding a few home accessories. Before purchasing any home accessories, spend some time thinking about of what style you are going for, whether cotemporary, shabby-chic, French country, and so on. That will help you decide what you need to change, what can be refinished or repurposed and what you will need to buy. Now you can set a budget; browse through stores and websites to get an idea of what various accessories will cost. This way you can allot a reasonable amount of money to complete your redesign. A great way to change the look of a room is through colors. You do not necessarily have to change wall colors, though. You can add colorful home accents or accessories that will accentuate the current wall color. If your current wall color is neutral or pale you can totally transform the space with new accent colors. For example, if your walls are ivory and you’ve accessories in browns and red in the past, wake up the space by introducing aquamarine and paprika to replace the red and some of the brown. Consider a variety of accents to bring fresh color into a room. Throw pillows are great for adding color to any space; choose colors in from a variety of sizes, shapes, textures and patterns. Add a splash of color by placing bright, bold area rugs in the center of a seating arrangement. Other options you can choose from to add color to your space include vases, lamps, collectibles, and wall art. From wall clocks to framed mirrors, paintings, prints, wall sculpture, wall pockets and vases, the choices are without end. When buying home accessories for your home, make it a point to choose those that goes well with your existing furniture or accessories. You do not want the old and new to clash together. Use swatches of fabrics or an accessory that contains your color choices as a guide that will keep you on track. Take this with you when you shop so that you’ll know immediately if an accessory is right for your room.
Enjoy the process of changing your space to something new and exciting. Choose only pieces that you love and make a few key changes will make your space more inviting than ever.
