Adding Texture to a Room Design with Wallpaper

Using textured wallpaper to cover the walls of a room can be the perfect design solution for many different decorating challenges. You can find textured wallpaper in many different colors and patterns, and it adds depth and interest to your walls. The other thing that it does particularly well is to cover any slight imperfections in your walls. So if you have walls that are less than perfect, you may want to think about covering them with textured wallpaper. If you are using wallpaper to cover imperfections in your wall, remember that matte, textured wallpaper will do a much better job of masking the dings than a shiny, smooth wallpaper. Embossed
Embossed wallpaper is great to use when you are covering slight imperfections in your wall. It is heavy wallpaper, so it does a great job of actually smoothing out small divots or cracks in a wall. The other really nice thing about using embossed wallpaper is that it is designed to be painted. So if you have one wall that needs help, you can cover it with embossed wallpaper, and then simply paint the room as you normally would. Then when you want to update the look of your room you can easily paint it a new color. Vinyl
Adding extra coverage to your walls with textured vinyl wallpaper is a great way to give your room an attractive look. This wall paper adds texture to your walls and it comes in many different textures, patterns and color. It is also good at masking imperfections in the wall, and since it is vinyl it offers a ‘wipe clean’ surface for super easy maintenance. It works particularly well in kitchen and bathroom areas. Vinyl, textured wallpaper is just as easy to take down as it is to hang. Flocks and Foils
Other popular textured wallpapers are flocks and foils. These wallpaper styles can add a lot of interest and texture to your walls. Flocked wallpaper is like hanging cut velvet on your walls. It is important to note that flocked papers are difficult to hang and almost impossible to clean, but they do a good job of hiding wall imperfections. On the other hand, the metallic sheen of foiled wallpaper is not a good choice to hide imperfections on a wall surface, but adds a little sparkle to a room. Fabric
Like the flock and foil wallpapers, fabric wallpaper can be difficult to hang and to keep clean. It requires a special adhesive, however, it comes in so many textures, patterns and colors that it is a great way to add a designer look to your home. Grass Cloth
A unique product, grass cloth is one a specialty wall coverings that will add texture and style to your walls. This wallpaper is another one that is rather difficult to hang, and it is not particularly easy to clean. However, if you want to add a great deal of texture to your wall or hide imperfections in its surface, grass cloth wallpaper is a great choice.
